AIRA’S 7TH HOLLYWOOD BRATZ PARTY

It was May 22, 2002, when I have given birth to Aira in C-section because she weighed 8.2lbs. We had sleepless nights during the first few weeks. Then we shifted her milk to lactose free and there was magic, she slept through the night and was a very happy baby the next day. Time flies so fast our baby girl is now a little lady and the world must be prepared for it. I too should be.

The end of mind of this celebration during the preparation stage, we wanted this to be something she will never forget in her lifetime.

I have to take this chance to give a little tribute since this is her moment. I want to share some things for you to know her even just a little bit….

One of her greatest fear is losing her teeth or decaying teeth. Ironically two weeks before her birthday she lost her two front teeth. We had challenges during the photo session with her Dad because she was too concious to smile. I told her, "hey don’t worry, daddy will take care of it". She was pretty amazed when she saw her digital images with teeth. Thanks to Photoshop, you can never go wrong with it.

She amazed everyone when she was able to read “ the great barrier of Australia” while looking in a world map at age 2. We were surprised that she knew how to read a lot of words already in the children’s encyclopedia that we gave her. They call it visual reading having known a word by just seeing it. Until now, she loves books.

She’s very friendly and outgoing. Eventhough she doesn’t know anyone in a childrens party, she would effortlessly blend with the group. She would be the one to introduce herself and initiate the talking. At the end of the event, she would gained new set of friends whom she will call her new best friend. She has a lot apart from Ate Andee.

She’s very conscious on what she eats. Surprisingly, the birthday girl is an advocate of healthy living. She prefers fish over meat and eats vegetables like brocolli, radish, okra and kangkong. She will only eat the white portion of an egg, not the yolk and loves to watch Fit & fab in QTV.

A born swimmer, she’s someone who really loves the water. Her coach pursued on training her for a competition. During the course of the training, she was able to cross an olympic size swimming pool. This shows determination and persistence no matter how difficult it is, she had the guts to finish the race. 6 feet to her is nothing, not at all.

When she transferred to a bigger school, it was really tough for her to adjust since she was accelerated to the next level. Writing and spelling was her problem that time. I have to hire a tutor to help her because everytime she would have an exam, she knew the answer but don’t know how to write or spell it. After some time, she adjusted and was able to cope up with her studies. She never failed to inspire me to be positive at all times. Not a nerdy type, she is more of a cool dude type. Her grades at one period, 67, 61, 73, 81 and 83 and was still cool about it and she would say “Bakit mommy, pasado naman ako sa dalawa ha”.

Later on, when she went to Grade 1…..she was able to show improvements. She told me – “Mommy next year, Guava na ko” – that’s the first section in Grade 2. Goal oriented na agad, bata pa lang. True enough with her efforts, she ended the school year being the top of her class. This school year, she’s now part of the star section, Guava. Competition will be stiff but I know with her attitude I know that she will exceed our expectations.

I was the proudest when she was handpicked out of the 51 students to join the Math Olympiad in school (some sort of Quiz Bee). Well I expected her to give a correct answer even to one question. But she exceeded my expectation. During the easy round, she was able to answer quickly the “What is the 9th letter from the left in the word MATHEMATICS”. Okey I was delighted. But you know what, she actually answered all difficult questions except one which could have given her the 3rd place. Anyway, she ranked five among all 14 contestants (all from the star section – Sampaguita). Well she gave her best and she fought the best fight that time.

Now she’s into FACEBOOK. Well we made an account there at the same time. We are fond of playing PET SOCIETY. We were kinda hooked and she was the one giving me points on how to play the game. I remember her telling me “ mommy sa experience ko ganito ang pagpunta sa mga rooms….just click here and there you go you will see the rooms of the pet”. Now she is alongside with my officemates playing another game called, restaurant city.

Aira, my “Ching-ching”, you are one of the best thing that happened to me and Daddy. As we finish this celebration, we hope that you will always remember this birthday even if you grow old.

Our wish, that you may be able to do, what God has planned for you to do. And I know it will be great and make us proud.

May you grow to be beautiful inside and out, responsible and God fearing individual.
May you have the best of health so you can do all the things that you want to achieve.
Most of all, may you remain to be sweet and friendly as you are now….you will always be our baby ching-ching.

Happy Birthday, we will always be here to support and cheer you…..
We love you very much!
